Keeping your account and money safe is a big part of how we build Calen.
We use a combination of identity checks, security controls and transaction monitoring to help detect and prevent fraud.
Identity verification
We verify customers before giving them access to certain Calen services.
This helps us confirm that people opening accounts are who they say they are and makes it harder for fraudsters to create accounts using someone else’s identity.
Transaction monitoring
We monitor account activity and transactions for unusual or suspicious behaviour.
This can include things like:
Unusual transaction patterns
Sudden changes in activity
Transactions that do not match a customer’s normal behaviour
Activity linked to known fraud or financial crime risks
Where necessary, a transaction or account may be reviewed before further activity is allowed.
Two-factor authentication and account security
Where available, Calen uses additional security measures such as:
Two-factor authentication
One-time verification codes
Face ID or fingerprint authentication
Secure password requirements
These controls add another layer of protection if someone tries to access your account.
Encryption and data protection
We use security measures designed to protect your personal and financial information when it is transmitted and stored.
Access to sensitive information is restricted to authorised systems and people who need it.
Fraud detection systems
Calen uses automated fraud detection tools and security checks to help identify potentially fraudulent activity.
If something looks unusual, we may:
Ask you to confirm a transaction
Request additional information
Temporarily restrict certain account activity
Carry out additional verification
Screening and compliance checks
We also carry out checks designed to help prevent financial crime, including sanctions and other compliance screening where required.
You play a part too 🔐
We’ll do our part, but there are a few things you can do to help keep your account safe:
Never share your password or PIN
Never share one-time verification codes
Check recipient details before sending money
Be cautious of unexpected calls, emails or messages
Contact us immediately if you notice anything unusual
If something doesn’t feel right, don’t approve the payment. Contact Calen Support first.
