How can I keep my Calen account secure?

Written by Daniel Bamidele

Keeping your Calen account safe is something we take seriously, and there are a few simple things you can do to help protect it.

Use a strong, unique password

Choose a password that is difficult to guess and that you do not use anywhere else.

A strong password should ideally be at least 12 characters long and include a mix of:

  • Uppercase letters

  • Lowercase letters

  • Numbers

  • Symbols

Avoid using names, birthdays or easy combinations.

Turn on two-step verification

Where available, enable two-step verification for an extra layer of security.

This means that even if someone gets your password, they would still need an additional verification step before they can access your account.

Use Face ID or fingerprint login

If your device supports it, you may be able to use Face ID or fingerprint authentication to help secure access to your Calen account.

Watch out for phishing

Be careful with unexpected emails, text messages, calls or social media messages claiming to be from Calen.

We will never ask you to send us your:

  • Password

  • PIN

  • One-time verification code

  • Full card security details

If a message feels suspicious, do not click any links or share any information. Contact Calen Support through an official channel instead.

Keep your phone and apps updated

Keep your phone’s operating system, the Calen app and your browser up to date.

Updates often include important security fixes.

Avoid public Wi-Fi for sensitive activity

Where possible, avoid sending money or changing important account details while connected to unsecured public Wi-Fi.

Use a trusted private network or your mobile data connection instead.

Check your account regularly

Keep an eye on your transaction history and account activity.

Look out for:

  • Transfers you don’t recognise

  • New beneficiaries you didn’t add

  • Changes to your account details

  • Unexpected login or security alerts

If something looks wrong, report it immediately.

Keep your device secure

Use a screen lock, PIN, Face ID or fingerprint protection on your phone.

If your phone is lost or stolen, contact us as soon as possible so we can help protect your Calen account.

Don’t share your account

Your Calen account is for you.

Do not allow someone else to use your login details, PIN or security codes to access your account or make transactions on your behalf.

If something doesn’t feel right

Don’t approve the payment. Don’t share the code. Don’t click the link.

Contact Calen Support first.

A few seconds of checking can save you a lot of trouble later.
