In most cases, recipients should not have to pay a Calen fee just to receive money.
We’ll show the sender the applicable exchange rate, fees and the amount the recipient is expected to receive before the transfer is confirmed.
Could the recipient ever receive less than expected?
In some cases, yes. This can happen because of charges outside Calen’s control, such as:
Receiving bank fees
Some banks may charge for receiving certain international payments.Intermediary bank charges
Certain payment routes may involve intermediary institutions that apply their own fees.Local taxes or regulatory charges
In some countries, taxes, duties or other local requirements may affect the final amount received.
How will I know?
Where we know a fee applies, we’ll show it as clearly as possible before you send.
For the most accurate information, check the transfer summary in the Calen app before confirming the payment.
Our aim is simple: you should know what you’re sending and what the recipient is expected to get before the money moves.
