How long do transfers take?

Written by Daniel Bamidele

Transfer times can vary depending on where you’re sending money, the currency involved, the payment route, and the receiving bank or financial institution.

What can affect transfer time?

Sending and receiving countries
Some payment routes are faster than others, so delivery times can vary by country and currency.

Banking and payment networks
The receiving bank or payment network may need additional time to process and credit the payment.

Weekends and bank holidays
Some transfers may take longer if banks or payment networks are not processing payments as normal.

Additional checks
Occasionally, we may need to carry out a security or compliance review before a transfer can be completed.

How will I know when my transfer will arrive?

Before you confirm your transfer, Calen will show you an estimated delivery time where available.

You can also follow the status of your transfer directly in the Calen app.

Your transfer may move through stages such as:

Initiated → Processing → Completed

What if it’s taking longer than expected?

Don’t panic. A transfer can sometimes take a little longer than the original estimate because of the receiving institution or payment network.

If the estimated delivery time has passed and your recipient still hasn’t received the money, contact Calen Support and we’ll help you check what’s happening.

We’ll always aim to get your money where it needs to go as quickly as the payment route allows.
