Is it safe to share my account details?

Written by Daniel Bamidele

Yes. It is generally safe to share the account details someone needs to send money to you, such as your:

  • Account name

  • Account number

  • Bank name

These details are mainly used to identify where a payment should be sent.

What can someone do with these details?

Someone with your account details can normally send money to you, but they should not be able to access your Calen account or authorise payments using those details alone.

What should I never share?

Keep your security information private, including your:

  • Password

  • PIN

  • One-time verification codes

  • Card PIN or security code

  • Login details

  • Identity verification codes

Calen will never ask you to share sensitive security information through an unexpected message, WhatsApp or social media.

Stay cautious

Only share your account details when necessary and be careful if someone asks for additional personal or security information alongside them.

Account details are for receiving money. Your security details are for you only.
